Recorded in 2002, Babylon is Walter Ferguson’s first compact disk in 70 years of music.

The disk includes 13 themes ranging from famous calypsos like “Cabin in the Watta,” “Callallo” and “Carnaval Day,” to more recent compositions, such as “Babylon,” the title song for the disk, describing the gangs of Limón.

Dr. Bombodee

In Dr. Bombodee, Walter Ferguson describes how computers have upset the peaceful life of the Caribbean. He dusts off several songs he had forgotten about (“Carolyne,” “One Pant Man,” and “Bugaloo”) and pays homage to traditional Jamaican music in “72 Weeds.”
